“Summer of Love” Episodes
The Episodes 193 - 199 below are part of the “Summer of Love” on Fox.  These seven episodes were originally scheduled to run from April - May, but Fox decided to hold off airing them until the summer, so that you, the viewer, would have nothing but new shows to watch, while those other networks sat on their rear-ends and bored their viewers with re-runs... Isn’t Fox so considerate???
 

• Buona Sera Mr. Campbell (Part 2) (Episode 199) - September 07, 1998
  It’s time to bid fond farewell to many members of the cast, as Coop, Taylor, Samantha, and even Billy boy (one of the can’t-act-my-way-out-of-a-paper-bag original cast members) leave for greener pastures; Peter continues his heroics while Kyle continues his jealous antics; Michael swears he’s mature now; Megan takes a swim.
   
• Buona Sera Mr. Campbell (Part 1) (Episode 198) - August 31, 1998
  Amanda is tortured by her kidnappers by housing her in a dirty shack; Kyle goes to Peter for help; Michael and Jane get closer while Taylor gets wider; Lexi continues to talk rough and dirty to Coop, driving him wild; Megan sits around without a clue; Sam loses Jeff; Sam admits to instigating the fax hoax; Billy has a spaz; no guest jazz artist this week.
   
• As Bad As It Gets (Episode 197) - August 24, 1998
  The title is not referring to the acting, but it might as well be sometimes! Last week was the long-awaited return of Jane and this week, it’s the longer-awaited return of Pool Boy; Jane finds out about Michael’s bun in the oven; Billy gets more details about Alison, to the dismay of Jennifer; Taylor has a false alarm; Coop and Lexi reminisce their first marriage; Peter tries to stop his wish before it comes true.
   
• Ball N’ Jane (Episode 196) - August 17, 1998
  The long-awaited return of Jane; also, the surprise return of Alison, if in name only; absurdity taken to new levels with the Billy-Jennifer storyline; Peter’s new obsession is also boarding on ridiculous; Kyle shows his face, but that’s about all; Taylor just sort of plumps; Sam starts to get a little psycho.
   
• A Match Made in Hell (Episode 195) - August 10, 1998
  Taylor farts around with baby toys while Michael feasts on new meat; Peter feasts his feelings on old meat; Amanda and Kyle return from you-know-where; Megan does her weekly stupid trick, this time forcing Coop into a situation he wanted to avoid; Billy and Jennifer are around for just a few seconds; Sam continues to slowly lose her identity.
   
• A Long Way to Tip-A-Rory (Episode 194) - August -3, 1998
  Taylor can’t even kill herself right; Michael admits he’s got some fatherly blood inside him; Peter realizes he’s still in love with Amanda, but he’s got to take a number since Kyle also thinks he loves her and heads to the Dominican Republic to get her away from Rory; Billy and Jennifer file for divorce; Lexi finds out she needs some cash and finds out an unusual way to earn the money.
   
• Divorce Dominican Style (Episode 193) - July 27, 1998
  Well, Aaron Spelling and his preoccupation with suicide caps the season opener; Amanda wastes the episode away with Rory in the Dominican Republic; Peter returns from his vacation in the mountains and comes to a revelation; Michael gets his job back; Jennifer and Sam get Cat Scratch Fever; every guy shows his machismo; Megan and Coop remind us how boring they really are; Jeff Baylor steps up to bat (again!); no sign of Jane Mancini!
   

Melrose Place Takes a Break
Melrose Place “ends” the season early, so that it can shove some new shows in the Monday time slot to see how they do.  But don’t worry, Melrose will be back this summer with “all-new” episodes, while the other networks all show reruns.  Fox calls it the “Summer of Love,” and it’ll start in July!
 

• The Nasty-Minded Professor (Episode 192) - March 30, 1998
  This is supposed to be Part Two of the so-called “season finale,” which really isn’t the finale since new episodes will air again in June... Go figure. Anyway, Kyle continues to try to get Taylor to confess to her part in the “Christine-thing;” Billy and Jeff confront each other over Sam; Michael tries to convince Peter to give him his job back; Megan and Coop find out what Philadelphia Freedom is really all about; Jennifer pulls all the stops trying to win Billy;  Amanda begs Kyle for a “quickie,” then heads off with Rory.
   
• M.P. Confidential (Episode 191) - March 30, 1998
  Part One of a 2-hour evening...
  Sam promises she’s going to make her marriage work; Taylor takes a paternity test; Peter starts to go crazy; Amanda is already crazy, dating that jerk named Rory; Rory violates Amanda’s computer as well as Amanda; Billy admits his marriage ain’t got that swing.
   
• Four Affairs and a Pregnancy (Episode 190) - March 16, 1998
  Sam gets the willies thinking about being Mrs. Baylor; Megan decides to follow Coop wherever he goes; Michael tries to destroy Coop’s reputation; Taylor finds out she’s going to need health insurance; Amanda meets a slimeball named Rory, who is as bad as his name; Kyle plays sleuth again; Sam catches Jennifer and Billy in the act.
   
• Too Romantic For Words (Episode 189) - March 09, 1998
  Megan and Coop set up their exit storyline; it’s that time of the month for Amanda as well as Lexi; Sam continues her wanton ways with Baylor boy; Billy joins the ranks of the cheating hearts club members along with Jennifer; Peter realizes he’s in love; Kyle plays super sleuth, trying to figure out what Nick was up to; Michael realizes he’s in trouble, financially and romantically.
   
• A Christine Runs Through It (Episode 188) - March 02, 1998
  Kyle and Amanda enjoy as good a honeymoon as most do on MP; Nick goes ballistic; Christine goes train spotting; Sam’s new motto is “Honk if You’re Horny”; Billy finds out just how good a friend Jennifer can be; Taylor feels how Christine’s head must’ve  felt last week; Coop, Lexi, and Megan barely show face; Michael comes to the rescue.
   
• Blunt Drama (Episode 187) - February 23, 1998
  Christine may not really be who she says she is; Sam gives her marriage the good ol’ college try; Lexi and Coop get the Matt Fielding award for being practically non-existent this week; Jeff Baylor gets a boo-boo; Jennifer continues her pursuit of Billy; Taylor and Nick continue to use “Christine” in breaking up Amanda and Kyle, but it may all be for naught and Amanda and Kyle may finally wed; and two people die in this episode!
   
• A Swing and a Mrs. (Episode 186) - February 16, 1998
  A special Valentineís episode, only, whereís the love? This week, Billy and Sam continue their squabbling; Christine tries to get Kyle to fall for her, with Nick and Taylor at her back; Amanda is still jealous of Christine; Lexi learns about her fatherís fragile health; Michael continues his biz in da Hood; Megan and Coop may finally settle down; Billy and Jennifer do a little dirty dancing; Sam and Jeff do a little dirtier dancing.
   
• Last Train to Baghdad (Episode 184 & 185) - February 09, 1998
  Lexiís dad calls it quits; Sam gets so horny she could honk; Jennifer becomes the resident Dear Abby; Peter loses Lexiís trust while Coop gains it; Megan has nothing better to do than stick her nose in other peopleís biz; Amanda gets to the church on time but Kyle doesnít; Christine shows up at Melrose and ends the episode in the hottest scene all season!
   
• Mama Mia (Episode 183) - February 02, 1998
  Lexi visits her new company headquarters; Mia Mancini shows up; Amandaís recovers at an astounding pace; baseball great Jeff Baylor hits a homerun with Sam; Billy has to act, not only as himself, but as Craig; Lexi and Coop make amends; Kyle finally visits New Mexico; Nick makes no appearance whatsoever.
   
• Coop de Grace (Episode 182) - January 26, 1998
  Lexiís daddy makes waves with Peter; Taylor hunts down the real story behind the Christine dreams, finding Nick down in Texas; Sam and Billy seem to be the only ones working lately; Michael continues his downward spiral, and Amber is no help; Craig Field goes out with a bang!
   
• Kyle of the Desert (Episode 181) - January 19, 1998
  Michael rescues another poor girl from a life of sin; Megan and Coop begin ìdating;î Billy and Sam have a spat; Amanda feels tingly all over, either from paralysis or Kyleís wedding proposal; Kyle has dreams of a woman named Christine; Taylor seeks out Nickís help; Craig is absent this week but no one notices; Bob blackmails Peter.
   
• Amandaís Back (Episode 180) - January 12, 1998
  The search and rescue team finally find Amanda and Sam; Connie says good-bye; Bob starts to throb; Craig and Jennifer barely appear and therefore receive the Door Matt award; Megan and Coop whoop; Michael finds solace in a nurse named Amber.
   
• To Kill a Whirlybird (Episode 179) - January 05, 1998
  Amanda and Sam go out on a scout; Billy has no one to share his birthday or his birthday suit with; Lexi gets an assistant; Peter regains his Chief-of-Staff position; Michael continues his downward spiral; Jennifer and Craig make a token appearance; Kyle and Taylor demonstrate the American way to get rich; Coop plays the devil this  week.
   
• A Tree Talks in Melrose (Episode 178) - December 22, 1997
  Itís Christmas time in the city; Connie goes after Billy; Sam becomes denser with each passing day; Kyle and Taylor try to make their balloon payment; Jennifer finds out the truth about the Mancini name; Megan give Michael a real dousy stocking stuffer; Lexi frees Coop from any more alimony; Coop drops his glove suit; Amanda shows her pregnancy fat; Hunter Tylo earns almost $5 million.

  Lexiís car gets a paint job; Peter finds the bum who got in Lexiís way during the last episode; Megan makes time with Coop; Jennifer and Michael get into a little voyeurism; Lexi becomes even more irritating... wonít someone give her another Scooby snack, please!

  Kyle and Taylor get the club and restaurant back; Lexi finds her calling; Billy and Sam get leiíed in Hawaii; Connie finds her niche at Melrose; Amanda gives up her share of the club; coma seems to have done wonders for Meganís ìsmartsî; Coop puts the thumb screws on the Mancini Glove.
   
• My Little Coma Girl (Episode 175) - November 24, 1997
  Kyle refrains from dropping Eric off the balcony; Megan lies in coma while Coop gets excited; Kyle blows Amanda off; Kyle blows Taylor off; Kyle blows Amanda off again; Billy, Sam, Craig, Jennifer, and Connie prepare for the big wedding; Amanda gets her agency back; Kyle gets his club back; Taylor gets her restaurant back; Connieís nickname could become Matt-ilda; Kyle gives Taylor her the wish of a lifetime.
   
• Attack of the Scapel Woman (Episode 174) - November 17, 1997
  Coop uses Get Out of Jail card; Kyle closes down the restaurant and jazz club; Billy, Sam, Craig, and Jennifer find an all-night bowling alley; Lexi gets the jitters; Megan gets a pierced belly button; Amanda takes Eric up on his indecent proposal.
   
• A Shot in the Dark (Episode 173) - November 10, 1997
  Billy and Sam make wedding plans; Jennifer finds a new career as a glove spokesperson; Kimberlyís past haunts Michael; Eric makes an indecent proposal; Kyle is informed heíll lose everything in thirty days... how many days this is in Melrose-time is a different story.
   
• Secrets and Wives (Episode 172) - November 03, 1997
  Peter and Lexi keep going, and going, and going; Kyle gets some smarts this week and figures out what Eric is up to; the Mancini Glove is introduced to the world; Megan gets a ìjobî with Eric rather than gives one to him; Coop gets reamed by Lexi, Michael, and Peter; Billy gives another engagement ring to yet another prospect.
   
• The Light at the End of the Tumble (Episode 171) - October 27, 1997
  Billy pays the Crabís House one more visit; Peter and Lexi become more than bed partners; Megan tries the dating scene; Michael steals an idea from Coop; Jennifer does her best to get Craig; Taylor takes a trip; Billy bruises his knee on the streets of West Hollywood.
   
• Desperately Seeking Samantha (Episode 170) - October 20, 1997
  Billy visits the crabbiest place in America; Amanda Woodward Advertising becomes official; Michael learns his lying isnít up to professional standards... yet; Lexi appears about as briefly as Matt Fielding used to; Craig is surprised by the white shadow; Kyle remains jealous of Eric.

  Sky High hits the ground; Peter meets new blood in Santa Barbara; Michael has his bandaged hands full with Megan and Taylor; Sam helps stabilize Billyís life; Amandaís back in the saddle of advertising.
   
• No Time For Sperm Banks (Episode 168) - September 22, 1997
  Jennifer continues to try to get Michael and Megan reconciled; Craig shows everyone heís not all brawn; Billy does some backstabbing; Taylor wants a withdrawal from the bank and she wants it now; Amanda goes to an old friend for help; Kyle continues to show his boyish charm by remaining jealous; Peter tries to make a wise investment; Dr. Cooper joins Burns-Mancini and reveals a secret from Cincinnati; Megan and Michael play Truth or Dare; Michael shows Taylor what ìchief-of-staffî really feels like.
   
• The Trojan Stork (Episode 167) - September 15, 1997
  Matt is really gone; Ken Griffey Jr. and Jennifer have something in common this Monday... they both scored home runs; Coop moves to Melrose; Megan works to get Michael and Peter at peace; Taylor propagates her pregnancy until everybody knows about it; not only is the equipment sterile at Wilshire Memorial, but so is the doctor; Peter and Michael both end up helping Taylor; Amanda begins thinking about her next career.
   
• A Brand New Day (Episode 166, Season Six Premiere) - September 8, 1997
  Syd dies, Jim Reilly dies, Sam lives; Amanda goes to NY then back to LA; West Hollywood just isnít gay enough for Matt, so he leaves for San Francisco; Craig blames everybody for his lonliness; a new doctor joins Wilshire Memorial; Peter proposes to Taylor; Michael wears socks on his hands for the entire episode.
