- Who's Afraid of Amanda Woodward (Part II) (Episode 165) - May 19, 1997
This is part two of the two hour season finale. Matt's court battle comes to its conclusion; D&D now stands for Dire & Desolate; Alison gets the Olympic spirit in her; Jake finds happiness; Sam gets to see her daddy one more time; Syd and Craig take their vows; Amanda forgets about her celibacy.
- Who's Afraid of Amanda Woodward (Part I) (Episode 164) - May 19, 1997
This is part one of the two hour season finale. Unfortunately, writing more than this on any given night is too tiring for my old blood, so you'll have to wait until Wednesday morning for the conclusion to this episode. Sam gets arrested then released; Billy plays "I Spy"; Peter watches his world fall apart, as does Amanda; While Kimberly's soul lives in Ohio, Jake's lives in Ojai; Alison plans a way to break up her marriage; Matt struggles to gain custody of the only young woman he ever loved; Craig pops the question; the end of the first hour brings about two new Chef-of-Staffs and one new Chief-of-Staff.

Matt goes back to one scene/episode; Jennifer gets a job; Jake gets a surprise visit; Peter continues his seizures; Megan begins to doubt Michael's faithfulness; Sam and Billy get themselves in more hot water; Kyle's jazz club opens to rave reviews; and vodka and orange juice seem to be the drinks of choice this week!

Amanda and Kyle do a "quickie"; Syd finally settles down... her lawsuit, that is; Jake and Alison act out their rendition of "Leaving Las Vegas", only, it's Los Angeles, and they're much more boring; Jennifer moves into Kyle's pad; Taylor and Michael team up to dethrown Peter.

Jake and Alison discuss leaving the show; Syd decides to ease up on Craig; Billy catches Sam in her lies; Amanda and Kyle make a pact; Michael begins his next strike at Peter and the chief-of-staff position; Jennifer gets a job. Matt continues his quest for Chelsea.

Matt continues on his quest to be a father; Billy uncovers Sam's secret; Syd finally falls for Craig; Amanda becomes Kyle's latest partner; some revealing secrets about Michael's little sister Jennifer become known.

Matt puts up a fight for his girl; Syd sues; Taylor and Peter bring ridiculousness to an all-time high; Sam hides the truth about her father from blind Billy; Amanda and Kyle get closer; Jake gets a reciprocal visit from an earlier trip he made up north.

Careless Matt loses Chelsea; Kimberly plays ghost; Megan tries to set Michael on the path to righteousness; Peter continues his delusions; Sydney gets even more ridiculous than her outfits of last year; Billy and Sam's father having a falling out.

Matt goes back to his normal one-scene-per-episode status; Amanda and Kyle ignite a spark; Peter takes over where Kimberly left off... going wacko; Sydney gets screwed again; the apartment complex gets yet another dweller; Kimberly decides to call it quits.

Matt takes a stance for the first time in his life; Syd learns that there's being screwed, then there's being screwed ; surprise, surprise, Kimberly's still alive; Alison plays the rebel, then suffers the consequences; Samantha gets a visit from dear ol' dad.
- 101 Damnations (Episode 155) - March 10, 1997
Amanda gets the point of the love triangle she's part of; Matt plays First Lady to Chelsea; Alison would rather watch the antics of the courtyard than Ricky Lake on the TV; Jake appears long enough to stir more trouble between Amanda and Peter; Megan loses her home and goes back to the streets; Taylor and Kyle fight over the restaurant; Sydney gets "screwed," but fails to orgasm.

If you're into seeing Fieldings, then you're in for a treat as this week there are three, all with equally minor roles; Taylor tries to explain her fat lips; Billy provides Amanda with some advice; the apex of the Megan Michael Kimberly triangle is reached; Kyle wises up; Nick bids adieu.
- Frames 'R' Us (Episode 153) - February 24, 1997
Amanda fights for her man; Megan's pimp, with Kimberly's help, "joshes" Michael into thinking his wife's back at work; Sam worries about her job (how scary!); Nick plays "I Spy"; Matt has disappeared but can be seen on the opening credits; Sam, Billy, Jake, Alison, and Syd all cram together for a heart-warming 30 second scene.

Michael returns to Wilshire Memorial as a patient... again; Sydney finds her heart in San Francisco; Peter finds a new condo; Jake finds a house he wants to call a home; Desert Storm buddy Nick shows up at Kyle's; Sam reunites with her ex but not for sex.

Obviously, their gift to us is to spare us from all the ridiculous storylines of late, by pre-empting this week's episode with one of those cheesy "funniest" something-or-other shows. This time it's TV'S All-Time Funniest Sitcom Wedding Moments . So, your VCR will get a much-deserved two week rest!

No appearance by Arthur Field; Jane does the Xmas thing with her newfound mommy; Billy gains some ground on Craig; love on the rocks between Amanda and Peter as well as Matt and Dan; love on the Rockies (well, close) between Alison and Jake; disgusting behavior too obscene to mention between Peter and Taylor; Kim drags on about her impending death; Syd meets yet another goof-ball but who knows, this may be her lucky number.

Arthur backs down to Craig; Peter contemplates a new profession; Matt quits; Taylor quits; Syd gets a new job; Billy starts to move in on Sam; Kimberly and Michael proceed with their divorce while Matt and Dan begin their new relationship; Jane finds her mommy dearest.
