Here's the latest scoop from an inside source on the set of Melrose Place:

 As everyone's contracts are up at the end of the year, with the exception of Heather's which is up in two years, the producers are busy padding the cast with as many people as possible in case some or many of the current tenants choose to check out, so to speak. As you know Estes, Rinna and Langton are all signed for the year (whether or not they'll be kept is another story) and they just doubled David Charvet's contract from 8 to 16 episodes. Kelly Rutherford's will run almost the entire season and Donna Mills' and Chad Lowe's contracts (4 and 8 respectively, I believe) could be extended at a moment's notice.
